Electrical Requirements

Each school is responsible for making sure the required electrical work is installed by a qualified electrician before we arrive on site to set up the pool. A 3 Phase 64A IP64 socket is required with a rotary isolator and housing an internal 40A RCBO. In addition to the 64A socket there also needs to be an external double switchable 13A socket. Both sockets need to be within 15m of the pool site. We are happy to help with the requirements for this install.

Where can I set up the pool

The ground for the pool must be hard (tarmac or concrete only) and relatively flat over a 15m length x 9m width.

How many students can use the pool at a time

The maximum group size at any one time is 12 in the pool. The maximum number of non-swimmers in the pool is limited to 6 for safety reasons and to ensure we remain within the Swim England and STA guidelines. Most importantly this gives the children the best learning opportunity.   

How long does it take to set up a pool, ready to swim?

The construction takes around 4/5 hours. Filling the pool (depending on the water pressure) will take 2/3 days on average. Heating the pool will take on average 2 days. The pool is then treated with chemicals and is ready to use.

How is the pool maintained and serviced?

We will require out of hours access to the pool location on the school site. The majority of the maintenance is carried out when the children are not on site. We will not need access to school buildings.

What chemicals are kept on site ?

The only chemicals kept on the site are chlorine tablets and chlorine in powder form. Any other chemicals that may be required from time to time are not left on the school site. The chlorine that is left on site is locked in a secure padlocked storage unit.

When do you clear the site after the swimming lessons end?

The site will be fully cleared within 2/3 days, unless a longer period is agreed with the school in advance.
